Jun. 02, 2025
Money management has gone digital, and convenience is the new standard. Enter Remote Deposit—an underrated tool that makes check deposits effortless. Whether you’re a freelancer, a small business owner, or just someone who wants to avoid teller lines, Remote Deposit can save you time, reduce hassle, and keep your cash flow moving. Read on to find out how you can make the most of this super-convenient feature.
What is Remote Deposit
Remote Deposit allows you to deposit checks into your PNWFCU accounts using the camera on your smartphone or tablet—no need to visit a branch or ATM. PNWFCU offers Remote Deposit right inside our mobile app, making it easy to snap a pic of your check and quickly submit it for deposit.
Benefits of Remote Deposit
Remote Deposit has many great benefits! These are a few of the top reasons our members love using the Remote Deposit feature:
- Time-Saving: No more trips to the branch or waiting in line.
- 24/7 Access: Deposit checks anytime, anywhere.
- Faster Funds Availability: Mobile Deposit funds are available instantly for up to $500.
- Improved Record-Keeping: Digital copies of checks are stored in the deposit history.
- Reduced Risk: Less physical handling of checks means less chance of loss or theft.
Optimize Your Remote Deposit Experience
- Use a Clean, Well-Lit Background
When taking a photo of your check, place it on a dark, flat surface with good lighting. This helps the app capture all the details clearly. - Endorse the Check Properly
Always sign the back of the check and write “For Mobile Deposit.” We may reject checks without this endorsement. - Double-Check the Amount
Make sure the amount you enter matches the amount written on the check. Errors can delay processing. - Hold Onto the Check Temporarily
Keep the physical check for at least 14 days after deposit in case there are any issues. Then, shred it securely. - Know Your Limits
Be aware that Remote Deposit has a daily limit of $10,000, and funds are instantly available for up to $500.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Although Remote Deposit is very easy to use, there are a couple of mistakes you’ll want to be sure to be mindful of when using this feature, like depositing checks with torn edges or poor handwriting, or forgetting to endorse the check.
Remote Deposit for the Win!
Remote deposit is more than just a convenience—it’s a super-smart way to manage your money efficiently. By following a few best practices, you can make the most of this feature and keep your financial life running smoothly.
