Your Money Is Safe and Insured at PNWFCU

Mar. 24, 2020

There’s a lot we don’t know about COVID-19 and how it will affect our lives over the coming months. But as your credit union we know this: your money is safe and insured at PNWFCU.

More specifically, your deposit accounts are fully insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) up to $250,000.

Cash or Card?

Keeping money at the credit union is still the safest choice. There’s no risk to keeping money in your savings or checking accounts, but there are countless risks to holding cash.

For starters, cash is dirty and can transfer germs, which is a huge concern during a health crisis. Using a card or digital wallet at the checkout stand is safer than exchanging cash.

Carrying cash also makes you more vulnerable to theft or loss. And with so many other ways to make purchases and transfer money to others, there’s no reason to carry large amounts of cash.

Remote Banking Options

As a PNWFCU member, you have many ways to manage your money remotely without handling cash.

Download our mobile app to take care of your financial needs from home. You can transfer and deposit money, pay bills, send money to friends in need, set up a budget and more.

78 Years of Service

Today is PNWFCU’s 78th birthday. We’ve been serving our community since March 24, 1942, through wars, recessions and unrest, as well as happy times of prosperity.

There are a lot of things to worry about these days, but the safety of your money in your credit union isn’t one of them. We’re not going anywhere. PNWFCU is not a building or just a business, it’s a group of people unified for a common goal: to be your financial partner for life.
