Who We Are
PNWFCU is a friendly credit union on a mission to be Your Financial Partner for Life. Since 1942, we’ve been putting people before profits, looking for ways to give back to our members and serve our community.
With four branches in the greater Portland, Vancouver and Hood River area, we are small but mighty.
- Small enough that you might see our CEO at your local farmers market, our kids might go to the same school, and you can always find us at a Portland Pickles game.
- Big enough to have a frustration-free mobile app and all the loans and accounts you would expect from a large bank.

Who Can Join PNWFCU
Persons who live, work (or regularly conduct business in), worship or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in these counties are eligible to join PNWFCU:
Oregon
– Clackamas
– Columbia
– Hood River
– Multnomah
– Washington
– Yamhill
Washington
– Clark
– Skamania
Also eligible: Spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of this credit union; employees of this credit union; volunteers in the community; members of their immediate families or household; and organizations of such persons. For an immediate family member to be eligible, the existing member still needs to be eligible through one of our counties.
Our Story
A few Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) employees worked together in 1942 to found our credit union, giving their fellow co-workers a way to loan each other money and grow their savings through a member-owned cooperative. Back then we were known as BPA Federal Credit Union.
We merged with Hessell-TPC Credit Union in 1999, with Mountain Valley Federal Credit Union in 2000, and with Pacific Retailers Omni Federal Credit Union in 2001. Then in 2004 we expanded our membership eligibility to Hood River and the surrounding areas, as well as a community in NE Portland.
In 2018 we expanded to serve the entire Portland Metro area, including Clackamas, Columbia, Hood River, Multnomah, Washington, and Yamhill Counties in Oregon, and Clark and Skamania Counties in Washington.
