Waiting for your new card to arrive in the mail? Now you can use your temporary digital card for purchases, even before your physical card arrives.

With our new digital cards for temporary use, there is no need to wait for your new debit or credit card to come in the mail. We will send you a text and a link to add your temporary card to your digital wallet so you can use it immediately  – online and in stores!

Secure. Digital transactions use advanced encryption and tokenization, ensuring your payment information is never shared with merchants. For enhanced security, you can block, monitor, and restrict transactions in Card Center.

How It Works

  1. When we order you a new card with a new card number, we will send you texts with a personalized link and a security token.
  2. Click on the link and follow the prompts to add your card to your digital wallet. You will need to confirm your identity by entering the last 4 digits of your Social Security number and the 6-digit Security Token that you received in the third text.
    Note: You will also receive an access code with letters and numbers. The access code is only used to manually add a digital card to Card Center if it has not pre-loaded.
  3. Add a PIN for in-store purchases while adding your card, or add/change the PIN later in Card Center. You will use this same PIN with your physical card.
  4. Complete verification in Apple Pay or Google Wallet.
  5. View, manage, and set alerts for your digital card in Card Center.
  6. When your physical card arrives in the mail in 7-10 business days, you will need to activate it in Card Center (or by calling 1-844-646-5465) and update the expiration date and CVV for any recurring payments.

What is a digital card?

A digital card allows immediate access to your physical card for certain e-commerce, ATM and in-store transactions (where digital wallets are accepted).

Where can the digital card be used?

A digital card can be used to make purchases online. When it’s added to a digital wallet, it can be used wherever that digital wallet is accepted – online, in stores, and in apps.

How can I view my card number to make online purchases?

You can view your card number, expiration date, and CVV in Card Center > Card Details > View Digital Card.

When do I “Activate Card” in Card Center?

You will “activate” your digital card in Card Center when your physical card arrives. You will need the new CVV and expiration date to activate.

Does the digital card expire?

Your digital card has a temporary expiration date and security code and is meant to be used until the physical card is activated. For any recurring payments, the card expiration date and security code will need to be updated when the physical card is activated. The card number and PIN will remain the same for the physical card.

What happens when the physical card arrives?

Once activated, there is nothing you need to do or update unless you used your temporary card for recurring payments or purchases. If so, you will need to update the expiration date and CVV to match your physical card. Otherwise, the card stays in the wallet, the card number stays the same, and there’s no need to update it or re-add it to the digital wallet app.

What is a digital wallet?

A digital wallet is a mobile app that allows you to securely store and quickly use digital cards through your mobile phone, using Apple Pay or Google Wallet. For more information on digital wallets or to download the payment apps, click here.

Can the card be added to multiple devices that supports digital wallets?

Yes, you can add the card to multiple eligible devices (including smartwatches). Follow the verification steps for each digital wallet and select the devices you would like the card to be added to.
