Pacific NW Federal Credit Union would like to introduce you to our candidates running for the Board of Directors in April. There are three incumbent directors seeking reelection: Paresh Patel, Nancy Morgan and Harry Speropulos. There is currently only one nominee for each available position. Therefore, the election will not be conducted by ballot, and there will be no nominations from the floor. In this situation, our by-laws call for an election by general consent or acclamation. Nominations for available Board of Director positions may also be made by petition, which must be received by February 26, 2010. E-mail Spencer Wedlund at S.Wedlund@pnwfcu.org.
PARESH PATEL
The past couple years have certainly been challenging times for our
economy, our members, and the credit union. As Chairman of the Board,
I have worked with the Board of Directors and the Management Team to
help ensure the credit union’s stability and future while keeping
true
to our goal to be our members’ financial partner for life. I am
seeking reelection to my fourth term with the credit union and look
forward to serving the membership through the current economic realities
and into better times ahead! I come from a business background where
I have learned to build a strong, stable business. I also have a solid
academic background, having earned both an MBA and a Ph.D. I feel I
bring to the Board some diverse business and academic experiences that
will help make your Board of Directors stronger!
NANCY MORGAN
I have been a member of PNWFCU for over twenty years. The Credit Union
has been my financial partner and continues to meet my financial needs.
I have been on the Board of Directors since 1997, serving on different
committees and in different leadership positions. Many positive changes
and challenges have occurred during this time and I have enjoyed being
an active part of the process. I want to continue to utilize my knowledge
and growing expertise in the credit union business, as well as my business
experience from 35 years at BPA in a variety of business and management
positions. I am committed to assuring that our Credit Union continues
on a fiscally strong path, meeting members’ financial needs, and
being responsive to changes in the industry that enhance that partnership.
For these reasons, I have asked to be considered for reelection to the
Credit Union Board of Directors.
HARRY SPEROPULOS
I have been a member of PNWFCU for over 25 years. During that period,
I have served the Credit Union on various committees and on the Board.
I currently serve as a Board Director, a member of the 401(k) Trustee
Committee and on the Supervisory Committee. I have a degree in Business
Administration from the University of Oregon. I have been a Bonneville
Power Administration employee since 1980. I’m currently working
as a Technical Lead and I have extensive experience with contracts and
rates. In addition, I have considerable experience with small business
operations. I strongly believe in the Credit Union’s mission and
the many services it provides its members. My mission is to keep the
Credit Union financially strong and to continue to respond and meet
the members’ financial needs in the future. In addition, given
the current turmoil in the financial markets and the challenges that
all financial institution face, including credit unions, it’s
imperative to have the proper financial experience and fortitude to
lead the CU successfully into the future.
